What's so special about us?
Children enrolled at NGCLC receive a Christian education and environment, backed up by rational limits and consistent love. Lessons incorporate a God who loves them and children learn to show empathy and respect toward their peers and teachers. With an on-site chapel, students also attend Bible study once a week.
Teachers at NGCLC welcome each child with open arms and provide a loving, caring and safe environment. Staff become more than teachers, they are fans attending sporting events, parents away from home and loving reminders to help children as they learn to make good choices.
The NGCLC staff focuses on setting clear limits, using daily routines, modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging constructive activity. Curriculum is appropriate for the age and exploratory, allowing for maximum engagement in lessons. Teachers coach students in problem-solving techniques and successful interactions with peers and adults.
New Generation Christian Learning Center is more than child care. The center provides numerous opportunities for children to grow and connect with their community, including summer swim lessons at the Augusta Swimming Pool, field trips, participation in Augusta Public Library programs, Christmas and Graduation programs, visits by firefighters and more!
Not only does NGCLC provide a safe, loving and inclusive environment for students with special needs, but the staff treats each student as if they were their own. The center also runs a closed Facebook group, allowing for daily updates for parents, and maintains a Parent Committee allowing for feedback and involvement.
Care is available for school-aged children after school, and transportation is available from every school in Augusta. Snacks are provided, and school-aged children can unwind from their day with friends, games, physical activity and homework help. The availability of transportation takes one more concern away from parents.
The center is packed with great spaces for children to learn, explore, play and grow. Each program has their own classroom and access to communal spaces like the cafeteria, chapel, outdoor play area and playground. Classrooms for younger children also have bathrooms attached for potty training convenience. The center is also located within blocks of the city pool and library, allowing easy access for special programs.
NGCLC focuses on learning through playing and exploring, instead of the abstract focus of worksheets. Circle Time, arts and crafts and themed play areas provide room for children to explore their worlds, pretend and learn. Each classroom has lesson plans and a focus for the week, on which hands-on learning is based. The playground has sand, riding toys, playhouses, climbers and more.
Safety & Security
The staff at NGCLC places great emphasis on protecting and caring for the children entrusted to their care. That's why parents are welcome to drop in anytime and the center has a coded security system. Each classroom has an open-door policy where nothing is hidden. Visitors must buzz into the building and visitor pick-ups are verified with IDs, phone calls and forms.
